S15

As a prototype space, S15 replaced the out-moded use of multiple, sliding blackboards with an equally effective, but more flexible way of displaying data streams. Participation was encouraged from members of the academic staff who were sceptical about the use of new technologies.

Fixed, tiered seating was replaced with split levels and mobile furniture to cater for both flexible and didactic teaching methods. Back-lit glass panels are used as writing surfaces for group activities. Lighting colour and intensity can be adjusted to suit particular occupants or activities.

The space is now used by many faculties who wish to experiment with alternative teaching techniques and the use of new technologies.
